   None of the auto parts stores could get the proper P/S fluid for an old Mercedes (MB236.3 specification). Even the Chrysler dealer said “we don’t know where to get any of that fluid.” It’s hard to believe Mercedes transmissions are in Jeep vehicles and the dealership is unwilling to look up the fluid requirements.The only other recommended P/S fluid is [Fuchs PSF] and it’s here on Amazon along with the required filter. If you are wondering what the big deal is with P/S Fluid, it’s synthetic. These power steering pumps are expensive and can overheat or burn up with common P/S fluid.Amazon sells this Febi 08972 P/S fluid at a reasonable price and I’m sure it will provide superior performance in the hydraulic steering system for a long time. Febi Bilstein is an OEM supplier for most European vehicles and an excellent choice for longevity.Suitable for use in hydraulic steering systems requiring Dextron IID which is very hard to find for a vintage automobile.

   This is the highest recommended fluid according to my research online. Simply be careful about how much you order. You DO need extra for a good flushing / replacement job–there are instructions “out there.” Good luck. Quality of this fluid looks excellent–even checking a month after it went into my car’s system.
