So at some point in the past 10 years, the SMOG shops in California have decided that for all cars with OBD-II systems, the smog shops will no longer put the sniffer in the tailpipe and just plug it into their computers for your SMOG check. That’s all well and good. Cheaper too. I paid about $70 for my check on my pre-1995 vehicle which has an OBD-I system, versus the $50 ODB-II test.Putting this into a car with OBD-II probably won’t make a difference on your test because it has nothing to do with what is actually coming out of the tailpipe, it has to do with whatever the computer and monitors are reading. With that being said, my 1995 Nissan Pathfinder PASSED the test. Here’s what I did.Make sure you have your check engine light off. I had to replace the O2 Sensor and after that, it was doing much better.Dump a whole bottle into half a tank of gas. Burn that up. Dump another bottle into an empty tank and fill it up. Drive it down half way.Drive it into the SMOG station HOT. Best if done when not raining. Get on the freeway for about 20 minutes and then go to the station. That cat needs to be hot.Put in premium. Fill tires completely. Do an oil change. Change the air filter. Etc.The guy kind of looked at me like “What did you do to make this 25 year old vehicle do so good in emissions?” And I just kind of looked dumb and pretended to just be lucky. He tried to get me on my gas cap. But honestly, it works fine. They are just so nit-picky in California.Anyways, hope this information helps you out. I would like to believe paying this $20 (two bottles) helped. It might have. Probably didn’t hurt.

The product does exactly what is says… and in some cases all too well. I own multiple vehicles and the most dreaded day for them is Inspection time. Living in an area which inspections are free and done by a State Inspection Station often means idling in long lines (no matter how early you arrive). Then dealing with a State inspector that may or may not be having a bad day or fully understands how to operate the equipment according to regulation.Because older cars don’t have an ODBII port, the equipment used to test emissions is often not maintained properly, which usually results in every car tested in that line failing (before the inspector then decides to redirect those waiting to another inspection line). Then for the newer cars with ODBII, those sensors are often triggered when the car has been idling while waiting, then put under immediate load as the inspector turns on the AC or heat at full blast to get comfortable during their inspection. And in either case, if the inspector is then distracted by another inspector, they leave the equipment attached and running beyond the testing period while they engage in conversation. No matter what the case may be, by adding a bottle of CRC Guaranteed to Pass to a routinely maintained vehicle with no more than a 1/2 tank of premium gas the night before inspection, then accelerated driving at least 5 miles before reaching the inspection area lowers the vehicles emissions results to a point of which has even caused (for example) the inspector to spend addition time on my 24yr old Acura because the emission equipment results were far below the minimum emission values for that particular make and model. They then ran extended under the hood and chassis inspections, looking for tampering (and finding that the car is OEM stock), they then had no choice but to pass my vehicle for its inspection.

Updating my review. Check engine light came vack on. But after running a 2nd tank of gas thru check engine stayed off. Really have nothing to lose by trying it.

Did improve the mile and how the car drove but by the name I expected more. Cheaper price then other products that do the same thing. So overall fairly happy with this product.

My vehicle failed Smog (once) using this product. And that’s because of a crooked Shop.Remember, the saying, “The honest Shops don’t make enough money to stay in business.” Word.Buy the product. Good luck with the sob’s….

My catalytic converter was clogged. I used four containers trying to clean it out. The check engine light did go out, but came back on a few days later.

This product works. My check engine light went out after driving with the product in it. It cleans the catalytic converter!

2009 Honda Pilot. Either an oxygen sensor or catalytic convertor issue. Easy to use. It took me about 300 miles of driving and then my emissions light finally went away. Only lasted one fill up, another 300 miles and the light was back on. On a temporary fix, very temporary!
