I’m not sure why Subaru feels that its necessary to rebrand something a double the price, but that’s exactly what they do with this ATF. Ignore the Subaru branded stuff you get at the “stealership” and just buy this. Its literally the same stuff in a different bottle. Speaking to the fluid specifically, I try to cycle 4 quarts through my Forester every other oil change and paying Subaru’s prices would make that borderline prohibitively expense. This stuff is fine to use (the owner’s manual specifically mentions it) and it is identical to the OEM fluid. I’ve heard good things about the Valvoline brand synthetic fluid, but I’m paranoid about using something that Subaru doesn’t specially recommend since their vehicles are kind of “picky” about things like that, and I’ve noticed improved shifting after every cycle of this ATF. Is it the best? Probably not, but it seems to be getting the job done, is covered by the manual, and isn’t too expense. Would recommend.

I bought three quarts to “change” the power steering fluid in my 2014 Subaru Outback and was very pleased with the results. It only took one quart so, I have some for the future. There are plenty of ways to do the job but I chose to use a hand pump to remove xx ounces of old, dark fluid from the power steering reservoir then replaced that with new fluid from this container. A quick drive back and forth on my driveway (I have a long driveway) mixed things together. After the 4th time doing this procedure, I noticed the fluid was getting lighter red so, I did it three more times and called it a day. That was probably 7 months ago and I have no problems.

Some have claimed this is a knock off, if it is, man they spent a lot of time getting jug and labels correct! I think this is real Idemitisu Type HP ATF.This is specified in the 2007 Outback user manual as approved. Much better price point than Subaru label type HP ATF. The cost was important to me since I wanted to do full flush and so need more than required for just normal drain and filter change.

This company makes the ATF for Subaru 4 speed auto, same stuff different bottle and 1/2 the price.two bottles will give you about 90% flush as the capacity is 10QDump ATF, fill exactly what came out, rinse and repeat in another 5K miles or so

I got this for a 2008 Subaru Impreza. It’s what the manufacturer recommended in the owner’s manual.
